5 days Post Repair Surgery
In response to your requests for an update….
Surgery on the 26th went "best case
scenario". The surgeons (Drs.
Ballert, Erickson and Angel) were able to do the procedure in the least
invasive way which was a definite answer to prayers. The only real concern they had was that the
vital tissue was not in as good of shape as they had hoped. They found it more damaged than they had
anticipated which made the repair more difficult. However, they did feel like they had done
their very best to ensure that the repair would "hold". This particular issue has a significant
incidence of failure. Under the
circumstances the found, they felt like they did all they could to optimize a
full recovery.
I have two catheters (indwelling and supra) and am on
significant meds to try to give my bladder a rest. All there seems to be working as
planned. For the first 14 days, I am
pretty much immobile in an effort to be still and let the repair heal. Thank God for books, music and TV as well as
calls, cards and a nice couch to sleep/read onJ
Prayers for continued and perfect healing are
appreciated. As I have shared before, I
am learning that it is in God's hands…and, there are no other hands in which I
would rather be!
Those of you who have been or currently are at "bed
rest" understand that it is no fun.
But, what I am finding is that, I have more time to pray and keep up on
the well-being of friends and family members.
Through your calls, Facebook, texts, and even the news, my slowdown has
made me more aware of things going on in your lives…both the good and the bad…. So many of us are undergoing so many things,
big and small, and it makes the significance of praying even more clear to me.
Thank you all for your prayers…it has and continues to make
a big difference in my life. I know I am
not walking this journey alone.
Love and Blessings to each of you,
Lesa
